Optics and Photonics Network
We are establishing a regular monthly slot to hold an informal seminar/discussion group for researchers across the university
involved in optics or photonics related research. This includes all aspects of research in this area: materials,
device development, applications and techniques, instrumentation, theory and simulation, etc. It is hoped that
such a network will not only promote interest and awareness in relevant research carried out in other departments,
but also enhance collaborative activity and the sharing of expertise. We currently have participants from Chemistry
and Electrical and Electronic engineering as well as Physics. At present we are aiming to meet 1-2pm on the
penultimate Friday of every month.
