Research Studying massive clusters of galaxies allows us to test models of structure formation in the universe, a key goal of cosmology. Multi-waveband observations of clusters are used to determine key parameters such as mass, dynamical state and baryon content. Radio observations, optical and X-ray observations (for measurement of the hot intracluster plasma) all contribute to these studies.
