When you graduate
Employment prospects for Bristol Physics graduates are excellent. The wide range of problem-solving and numerical skills that you have obtained from the Bristol course are in demand for a wide range of occupations. Typically about 40% of Bristol Physics graduates proceed to a higher degree, Ph.D, M.Sc. etc., after graduation. Of those directly entering employment, about half go into jobs utilising their knowledge of physics, whilst the rest enter a wide range of professions, such as finance, law, etc. There is a strong demand for Physics teachers and a proportion opt for teacher training.
The provides help and advice to students, who either have not decided on their career, or to those who have a definite career aim but need advice on how to achieve it. They provide information concerning employment fairs, presentations and talks to help you formulate your own career plans. In addition to this they also provide help with writing job applications, producing c.v.'s, practice interviews and lots more.
In addition to helping you with your long term career plans, the also operates a service to help students find part-time jobs, summer placements etc. during their studies. This can be useful to boost your income and also to make contact with possible future employers.
